Ready to learn

Can anyone post some links and mention good texts for learning AppleScript? The last time I experimented I had found a good web site with TONS of links. I founds lots of starter guides. That was a couple of Macs ago and the links have since been lost to me.

Can someone also give me an overview as to how those who are users of AppleScript, make use of other "front end" programs? I have heard about "Scripter" from the MacSecrets book, but I still haven't seen it so I don't really know what it does. And this list was discussing a product that I know nothing about. Here, I am asking for context. As in , why you use it and secondarily why it works. I am trying to understand the larger picture.

As an example, I like Dreamweaver because I can put down in graphical representation what I want done in HTML code. And, I can directly edit the HTML code as I like. Are there AS add-ons which contribute to the script writing process?

Thanks.

Dave
