There's something vaguely analogous, trashing three files:
LSApplications, LSClaimedTypes, LSSchemes
from ~/Library/Preferences/
but doing that a few days ago (for another reason) is what may have landed
me in the situation where I needed to clean-install OS 10.1 (or maybe not
;-)). I'd want to be a little surer that a) it might help and b) won't
create other problems, before I try it again...
