I've been using Python for several years, and it has driven most of the
Perl out of operation. It all started with a heavy rain, and a flood at a
relatively-nearby Tower Books, and a sale of water-damaged books which cut
Programming Python down to half price or less (stains along the bottoms of
most of the pages).
(AppleScript is not a candidate at work...the servers are unix. The
administrative machines are Macs.)
