Date weirdness continues

One and all,

Firstly,

Let me thank you all for your efforts to date. No doubt you all have other things on your plate and I appreciate the fact that you have been able to set aside some time for me.

Secondly,

I went in to the client yesterday (who by the way has now seen the light re a UPS) and found that most of the files had reset to the proper date!!!! So 3 data files out of 25,000+ still had a 1963 or earlier year and I used File Buddy to fix them (Larry the cheque is in the email). Some of the preference files in the System Folder were 01/01/1904 but launching their parent applications fixed that.

What happened? The only thing I know for certain that happened over the weekend was that Restrospect ran its usual backup (perhaps that reset the modified date flag??).

Anyway the data is fixed now and we are looking at a UPS (and a Server X based solution) to try and prevent things happening again.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but I had to see some mates off (they are on their way to to a little party George W and Tony Blair are holding somewhere to the west of Pakistan).

Regards,

Mark (}-;
