how to set an item to invisible

  • Subject: how to set an item to invisible

Making a CD for distribution and I want to hide some of the data from end
users so the "Click Me" icon I presnet to them is there only choice.
(Content is a bunch of html pages linked together and I want the user to
wander thru the pages using the supplied navigation rather than hunting and
pecking their way in the finder)

I tried:

set thefile to choose file
set the visibility of thefile to false

but was stymied by a stack overflow error.

OS 9, Script editor 1.41

Gave up and used file buddy to accomplish my goal, but I need closure on the
Applescript approach.

Thanks-
Brian Mather
