Ahhh. I'd been thinking it was the big mean-looking bouncer they had on the
door:
To the not sign (used for soft breaks in AS): "Well, you sure look like a
drunken 'L' to me. No drunks allowed."
To the curly quotes: "Only straight quotes allowed in this club. Get lost."
To the greater-than-or-equal-to sign: "I don't care WHO you think you are,
you're still not coming in here."
And to every other MIME-quoted character: "You're not on the guest list
either... NOW CLEAR OFF!"
But this other explanation does sound more likely. How annoying. Glad it's
been pointed out; I'll watch for it myself in future. I don't imagine
there's any way to slip $20 to a software bug, unfortunately...
