Yes. I believe that this by itself, far above and beyond any
language or marketing or other support issue is the biggest barrier
to wider AppleScript adoption.
I'm inclined to agree (though there are lots of other reasons that
contribute to it, complete ignorance of the existence of AppleScript
being one). Good implementations, supported by good documentation,
and lots of sample scripts would help enormously.
I would also hasten to point out that this includes the AppleScript
implementations in Applications from Apple as well and that, of
course, Applications with no AppleScript.
Yes. Apple has to start eating their own dogfood. When applications
ship from Apple and they don't support it, this sends the wrong
message to other developers.
