It's a coined word we here really ought to eschew..."osaxen" is a coined
plural of the coined word "osax". "Osax" means a "Scripting Addition"
which is a chunk of code put into the Scripting Additions folder to extend
AppleScript. The non-word comes from the four letter code Apple elected to
use for the things (an acronym of Open Scripting Archicture eXtension).

A Scripting Addition defines new commands (or new data coercions, or both).
