Displaying AppleScript Menus/Dialogs

Hej everybody

I'm trying to make a applescript with a menubar, and a menu item with a
preferences dialog attached to it. When Preferences.. Is chosen from the
menu, I need the dialog to show up, so a user can change the settings of
the program. Is this possible with applescript?
