I don't quite understand the question (there seem to be rather a lot of
negatives there) , but Smile reads and displays the AppleScript Suite, if
that's what you're asking..

There is no AS version 1.8.2. It's not released yet. 1.8.2b3 is the latest
version.

I'm sure that's there' lots of information on this stuff somewhere at the
Apple site, some of it out of date. Check "Inside Macintosh" (several books'
worth of stuff in free HTML, maybe PDF too, format) at the ADC site. Do a
search.
