I sometimes come across a very similar idiosyncrasy, has. :-(
While I don't understand enough about such occurrences to even take a stab
at the possible cause, it seems (IMHO) as though some file corruption may
have crept in.
Whatever the reason, this often fixes it for me: Copy the script's text,
quit and re-launch the editor, create a completely new file/applet - and
then paste the previously copied script into it.
You may have already tried something similar. But if you haven't, it just
might be worth a go...
