Thanks, I just downloaded it and played around with it. Looks a lot like
what I was looking for and very much like how php extracts the information.

I have been able to use the scripting addition called 'Extract AP Photo
Header" that comes as part of the GTQ scripting additions library. The
syntax is a little difficult but it has worked well for me.
