Sorry, that should have read:

At the moment, if I try to get 'recurrence' of any [calendar] event in
Microsoft Entourage (version X) it compiles a variable and errors on
execution.

What's very strange is that no matter how often i set variables to
'application "Microsoft Entourage"' and browse to the correct X version in

set OPIM to choose application

the X version of the app never appears in the choose application dialog in
subsequent attempts. I have to browse to it every time, as only the 'Classic
Application' (version 2001) is present. It's as if it just doesn't exist.

Wait, I have an idea.

[ on moment]

OK. By dragging an email message (document) to the desktop, doing a Show
Info, and switching the app opening it to the correct Entourage X ()I had to
browse again), it now shows up in 'choose application'. And, of course I can
get it to launch by including its full file path. Otherwise Classic tries to
start up, still.

And I still can't get 'recurrence' to compile, even with the application
running. This is crazy.
