A quick question regarding "path to" in OS X:

Getting the path to a users folder in OS X seems a bit convoluted. At the moment I'm getting the path to the users desktop and then taking a step back to get the users root folder ("~/" in unix land). Is there a way to get the user's root directory directly (and say that half a dozen time quickly)?

You've had the power to go home all along! Just say...

path to "root" from user domain

"path to" will accept any four-character string and use it as a FindFolder selector, even if there isn't a proper AppleScript enumeration for it (yet). For a complete list of selectors, look in Folders.h in my iDisk.
