It should also be noted that Word is imminently recordable and much can be
learned about both the AppleScript and Visual Basic side of scripting Word.
Just click the record button in the Script Editor and then do some of the
things you want to do in Word.

Word X has the ability to import a FileMaker Pro file by using the Data
Merge Manager - so then it would be a matter of getting two Word documents
talking to each other.

Alternatively, Word can record VB macros.

On a related note, Word's Macros can run Applescripts. I wrote an article
about scripting DVD Player 3.1.1 and described part of the process of making
a Word toolbar to control my DVD player without switching apps. It can be
