Open NetInfo Manager and select 'machines'. Duplicate the DHCP entry and
change the copy to:
- ip_address: ip address of the machine you want to connect to.
- name: machine name of the machine you want to connect to.
- serves: leave it blank


That works for me. Now you can target it either by name or ip address.
