You can hardly ask users of your scripts to buy QuicKeys. It's understood
that such an osax is usually needed when developers have _not_ implemented
some UI feature. Perhaps you're saying that Apple purposely does not make it
easier for developers to get around decent implementation by supplying a
keypress emulation command. Yes, I cold understand that motivation, if it's
correct. But I wish _someone_ would.

OS X scripting, and scripting for Apple's new OS X applications, is an
ongoing process at the moment. This would not be a good time for a major
revision of its documentation - perhaps by OS 10.3 or whatever comes after
10.2. Or 11.

Both work. I have found that the Applescript engineers have been extremely
responsive to users' concerns since the debut of OS X.
