Apple: Please deal with basics

I use Applescript to automate many of my everyday tasks; I am a dabbler, not
a guru.
Since the switch to OS X I have been frustrated due to lack of simple tools.
While there are a number of such tools missing, let me emphasize just these:

*A recordable finder
*A TypeText OSAX
*A OS X users guide which includes sample scripts for everyday tasks.

I am putting this on this list primarily to reach those Apple employees who
work on Applescript. While I am all for AppleScript Studio & all it can be,
don't you think the basics need some attention?

After all, OS X is over a year old. There have been a number of revisions,
but none to speak of for Applescript.

I have always thought that AS can be a great marketing tool since Windows
has no direct equivalent, but until the ease-of-use for the casual user is
improved I don't see how it will ever be used by more folks like me.
