i thought so too, but when i was trying to find a scripted
solution, i discovered that double-clicking a playlist in
the UI opened a new playlist window, and that playlist
window was visible to Script Debugger's Explorer. that did
away with my understanding of iTunes as a quintessential
"one-window" app. all the stranger then, that it can't be
scripted.
