AS versions

OK,

I thought this would be easier... I just installed system 9.1. Bought
brand new last week from Apple. I thought, from reading earlier threads,
that if I just avoided version 1.7 and went with 1.6 I would be OK. But
my new 9.1 came with AS 1.5.5. I have been using 1.3.7 in my 7300 with
8.6.

But now my OneClick scripts, which I use to launch some AS, don't work
anymore. The OC app compiles just fine. But the AS does - nothing.

I joined the developer list so I can go and get 1.8 if it is still free
and in beta there. But Sherlock keeps finding release notes on
applescript, not downloads for applescript.

So A) where do I find different AS versions? and B) isn't 1.6 the way to
go? Or would 1.8 be better?

I will probably not try to hack this Mac into 9.2 although some day
(probably far off) I would like to see if I can get 10 to run on it. So
mostly I am asking as if 9.1 really is the end of the road for me.
Probably in a year I will pony up for a full on new Mac.

Thanks

Dave Groover
