Bless you bless you. It works. On the colo machine. But still not on my
Pismo. But it doesn't matter there. Why the "Network" and "Cache" menu items
continue to fail to show on my Pismo (despite changing the version of
Applescript, and Carbonlib, and rebooting a few times) is beyond me. However,
the goal has been achieved, and the remaining bad behavior is no longer an
Applescript problem, so off list it goes.
Interestingly, the "original location" of my alias no longer shows the "*".
