hello all, i have to say first of all that i have been reading all of the
most recent threads, and you guys just continue to amaze me at how much
knowledge is collectively shared....anyway, i am knew to applescript, i
have been studying books and reading the threads, and trying as much as i
can to create scripts, starting with the simple things first. i have a
script that i really need to create but i think it is beyond my skill
level so i am hopeing that you will show me how to put it together so i
can learn from it. what i need the script(s) to do is 2-fold, i have 2
folders on different network drives, users will add items(images) to one
folder, an action will send that image to the other folder which already
has a rather large list of items in it, the newly added item needs to
receive a new name just like the items in it's new folder. the items in
the folder will all have the same prefix of 4 digits and then a four
digit number, and the same suffix (most likely)...can you help? if i have
left out any rather important information please let me know, i have
tried to edit an existing rename script to make this happen but i think
what i need has to be recreated all together and i just don't have the
experience yet... thanks in advance for all the help, matthew
