Here is my problem. I am running script editor on an OSX box. I want to
open the dictionary of an application running on another machine on my
LAN network running OS9.1. I have tried everything I can think of and
cannot accomplish this. If an application is NOT actively running on the
OS9 machine, I can open it's dictionary. However, if it is running the
dictionary is NOT available. I checked the general filesharing settings,
appletalk settings, user filesharing settings, application file sharing
settings. I have tried mounting the volumn on my OSX box using
traditional appletalk and connect via tcp/ip. Nothing works. I have tried
it with a couple different applications on the OS9 box to be sure it
wasn't just something about a particular application. I can open the
dictionary of any running application as long as it resides on the same
box as the script editor.
If someone has successfully done what I am trying to do, PLEASE tell me
exactly how you did it. If you know it can't be done for some reason,
please let me know. The problem is that without access to the dictionary
of the running program of the OS9 box, scripts cannot be compiled on the
OSX box. Thanks.
