I probably should have been more specific in my original question on this
topic. The failed opening of a dictionary is the reason scripts fail to
compile on my OSX box when they target applications actively RUNNING on
another machine on my LAN (OS9.1). I have asked this question in a
variety of ways on several lists and discussion boards. I have gotten
some helpful suggestions which have all failed to solve the problem. So
here is the real underlying question in it's simplest form:
Is it currently possible to compile a script on a machine running OSX
which targets an application currently RUNNING on a remote OS9.1 machine
? Please, if anyone has _actually_ successfully done this, let me know
how it can be done. If anyone knows it can't be done, PLEASE tell me so I
don't keep going in circles.
I have tried every suggestion given to me, including those about
filesharing preferences, program linking preferences, "using terms from"
targeting a copy on my local machine, using tcp/ip rather than appletalk,
and several others I have forgotten by now. I am extremely frustrated at
this point and don't know if I should just give up!
