Kim,
I can't imagine that using .txt instead of .ads would make
a difference, except if .ads is a file format already
reserved for use by something else (apple display
system[?], for example), or if it is incorrectly set in the
Apple File Exchange settings (under OS 9.x -> Apple
Menu:Control Panels:File Exchange) as being specific to
some program. Can you check the resource settings for the
file and see if the file type is TTXT or TEXT (or something
else?).
If you can work it as a .txt file, then make the first step
of the script a rename operation to To0814.txt before the
open for access/read file commands, and the last step
another rename operation back to To0814.ads after the
write/close file access commands
Finally, what format is the file internally (quark, text,
something else)?
Best Wishes,
=-= Marc Glasgow
