Auto-launch databases

Hello,

I'm new to the list and AppleScript, so I apologize for the "stupid question" factor that might come into play here ...

I am looking to implement an AppleScript that will close down and launch a set of FileMaker databases stored outside of the FileMaker app folder at a given time of day (e.g., close the dbs at 7:00 p.m. and launch them at 7:00 a.m. or whatever).

As I am green to doing this from scratch (although I want to learn how to do that), I was wondering if there is a pre-fab script out there that might fit the bill. I know of one that comes with the Retrospect backup software, but that is linked to the launch of the app, which is not what I need.

Any info (resources, starting points) would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
