OK, maybe only interesting if you're as dumb as me.
Being used as I was to OS9, where one usually thinks of apps running
faster than scripts, when I put in the OS X scripts menu, I added
some items in there which were saved as applications, rather than
scripts. They were quite small (email checking, web pages) which made
it a bored when they would then start, meaning a Dock icon would
appear and all that.
For some reason I wondered if they would run faster as a script.
Poom! So they do. So now I've resaved all those apps as scripts, and
they whizz along. And no more annoying Dock icon waits either while
they get scheduled, iconized, bounce a few times, and join the party.
Learn from my errors..
