exactly what does a personality have to do with a mail account. I'm

not that i'd defend it to the teeth (i'm likely to switch to
Mail in Jaguar), but a personality has an account, a return
address, a preferred signature, and a mail checking and
sending behavior.. i use multiple personalities with the
same account to provide alternate return addresses, for
instance

So why not separate the terms, gain better clarity, and an easier
explanation of a useful feature?

well, for one, there seems to be no concept of account in
the Eudora UI *or* dictionary, so it is internally
consistent.. account info is among the "settings" of a
personality.. one can only refer to the settings by numeric
index, which IMO is not especially clean, but then, i've
never needed to script personalities

it might be useful to have an account class, but then one
would have to decide which of the personality settings to
include.. if the account class had anything other than the
barest minimum of properties (probably just username, mail
server and password), then one would wind up duplicating
accounts in order to exploit the flexibility of
personalities (ie, defeating the purpose of introducing the
concept of an account)

nonetheless, on examining this part of the dictionary, i'm
underwhelmed.. but since it seems that Eudora Mac isn't
getting a great deal of attention from Qualcomm, i'd rather
they attend to other things before revamping the scripting
(if i'm still a customer by then)
