Does anyone know for sure wether QuickTime Player can present (not
just play) two movies at the same time or not?

It probably can using SMIL.
The suggestion to use SMIL for this also came up on
alt.comp.lang.applescript. The examples I found covered showing a
picture for a certain time during one movie. I didn't find any
commands to present movies simultaneously. Two of the sites I looked
at are [1] and [2].
I have not yet worked with SMIL, so I don't know how I should go
about this. Do you know for sure there are commands for my purpose in
SMIL that QuickTime Player can interpret?
Apple's "QuickTime and SMIL" page [3] was not of much help. Maybe you
can point out more helpful sites in this matter to me?
Is the only way to execute the smi-files with QuickTime Player or is
there another possibility like a runtime or using a browser that
supports kiosk mode?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Regards,
Klaus
