So the question becomes "Was macht das Windows Manager das so viel

redrawing the screen?
It must be something like this. BUT (BIG but): how come Window
Manager doesn't draw so heavily on the CPU when I do exactly the same
manually (double clicking the movie files, positioning them,
selecting the "Play all movies" command)?
The reason must be hidden somewhere in the communication between
AppleScript and QuickTime Player. Maybe AppleScript doesn't hang up
the phone after finishing the call.
I ask because I have done what you are doing under OS 9.x and have
had no problems. Perhaps you should boot straight into OS 9.2.2 for
the purposes of the presentation?
All the way back? With 10.2 around the corner? That my sound
stubborn, but I simply don't want to. We're well into 10.x and after
over a year I expect to be able to use it for every day purposes (I'm
doing this right now). As the machine will be located in a lab, I
have to be able to ssh to it when necessary.
Classic is not an option for me.

Klaus
