My 10.2 appears to have AppleScript 1.9.
Version info from The Only True Place[tm] ;-):
run the following vast script:
applescript's version
and look in the result window.
About AppleScript in the Script Editor menu agrees on the 1.9, as does the
Script Editor application version. GUV (Grand Unified Version) has
happened (for now).
My Jaguar install was an upgrade over a 10.1.5 whose heritage went back to
10.0.
