I was afraid of that. ;-) Emmanuel does NOT mean versions 1.6 through 1.8.3
inclusively. He means _exclusively_: namely v1.7 and 1.8.1. (1.8.2b3, known
to Script Editor and the Finder as 1.8.2, wasn't so bad, frankly.) Mostly
it's 1.7, the one that comes with OS 9.2.2, You do NOT want that thing
anywhere near your computer. Expunge it now. Go forward to 1.8.3 or back to
1.6. That's what Emmanuel meant. ("Bogus" isn't quite the right word either,
but it will do.)
