Strange "bug": Scripting QT Player 6 and setting chapter tracks

  • Subject: Strange "bug": Scripting QT Player 6 and setting chapter tracks

Hi everyone!

Maybe someone has found this one already:
I'm generating a reference QT file with around 10 tracks including a
chapter track. When I use AppleScript to set the chapter track for all
other tracks ( e.g. set chapterlist of track 1 of movie 1 to track
"Chapter-Track"), it works well till the point when I want to save the
movie. Saving takes considerably longer compared to setting to the version
where I set the chapter track manually in the QT Player. When using only
one track to get the chapter track and a chapter track with two chapters
it seems to be only ten times slower; using ten tracks and about 25
chapters keeps the color ball turning endlessly (compared to a 1 second
saving time when the chapters were set manually in the QT Player).

All things before (creating the movie) and the saving can be done by
AppleScript or by hand; the only difference seems to occure between the
manual setting of a chapter track and the automatic setting by a script.
Also both movie files when saved do not have the same size (they differ by
45 bytes length).

Regards,

Uli T|rk
