I'd just like to say that Graphic Converter is a damn fine image manipulation program which is low cost and scriptable.

I don't feel bad about an occasional upgrade fee. :-)

Me neither. As soon as I saw 4.5 was out, I paid my upgrade fee happily.

Sorry for the OT post but shareware authors who release software to the quality of Graphic Converter with no upgrade fees for years deserve our support. Especially if they're scriptable (phew, back on topic ;-)
