I believe back in the day of System 9 - I could stop the AppleScript
command below by hitting command -. At any point and it would stop speaking
at that time.

say (the clipboard)

Currently - on Jaguar 10.2.2 - command -. Does not stop a the speaking
command - and if there is a lot of stuff on the clipboard - it will keep
speaking on and on till it gets to the end.

Q: Is there some way to enclose this command in some kind of checking
procedure to see if command -. Has been pressed and if so stop speaking?

... And/or how do I stop the speaking whenever the user wants?

Thanks in advance - RevDave
