very funny. Your email app broke that line up. AS Editor wouldn't even compile that if I tried, let alone return an error type 1. So I'm still at a loss of why it wouldn't work OMM, whereas everyone else seems to have no problems.

misapprehensions of humor can be funny indeed!

AppleScript *will* compile the broken line (which was broken
by your email client, not mine). running the broken result
*does* give me a type 1 error!

since the correct script worked fine for me, i assumed you
had tried to run it with the broken line.
