which ScriptingAdditions folder? the one in /System/Library
is normally owned by root because you should leave it alone.
on my machine, the one in /Library and the one in ~/Library
(for my primary account) are both owned by my primary admin
user.
Thanks everyone, on my machine these other 2 folders don't exist yet
so I assumed that there was only one place to put them. I'll create
those other folders.
