Yep, there sure are a lot of problems with URL Access, though things are not
nearly as bad on OS 9 as they are on OS X (actually, it worked pretty well
up to 10.0.4, but was badly broken in 10.1 (and still is on 10.1.2).
I've filed oh-so-many bugs on the topic, and yes, Apple is quite aware of
these problems and we're ever hopefuly that they will get fixed sooner
rather than later. The folks at Aladdin (and other developers) are certainly
lobbying them to get it working again so that StuffIt Express is once-again
useful on OS X.
Unfortunately, that's about all I know right now. Apple knows there are
problems, and knows developers use it and are running into bugs (especially
on OS X).
