Well, as I have TextEdit set up, text is not "rich" by default.
When I copy some bold text in a particular font (it's whole-document
styling in this mode), and paste into the Classic Scrapbook, Scrapbook
tells me that the item has types
text and utxt
If I set the document to "Rich" format, vary the styling per word, copy,
and paste into the Classic Scrapbook, Scrapbook tells me that the item has
types
RTF (trailing space) and styled text
Somewhere in there, there is a Clue. Probably.
