On 02/27/02, Mr Tea commented:

Why does this line:

tell application "Tex-Edit Plus" to select insertion point (insertion
point of window 1) of window 1

...move the insertion point BACK one character? I was originally trying
to move the insertion point forward by set increments, and found that the
value of the result was always 1 less than the expected number.

I can't say for certain regarding Tex-Edit Plus, but in BBEdit, according to John Gruber of Bare Bones Software, "the blinking insertion point of a window is really just a zero-character wide selection".

Maybe this is the same for Tex-Edit Plus. If this is the case, would it make your problem more obvious?

Best regards,
