Since AS 1.7 completely fucked up Classic Smile 1.8.4, I wonder when either Smile will be updated or AS updated (for Classic) so as to make it work again?
It's getting pretty irritating not being able to edit anything for 1.7!
BACKGROUND:
I do NOT run OS X since there are just far too many problems with X as yet. However, I publish a package written in AppleScript, so anyone might use it and this person might very well have upgraded to (classic) Mac OS 9.2.2, so I need to make sure my package works with that OS. That's why "classic people" need to ensure all classic scripts work all the way up to AS 1.7 (and beyond?).
(To those who have claimed that one should stay with 9.1 unless using X, I can just respond with saying that it is a completely unrealistic claim!! People DO upgrade, and AppleScript is NOT just for private usage!! On the contrary, the scripts must be able to run on a range of machines and OS. In addition, people with OS X do occasionally boot into the classical OS. There is no way whatsoever to *require* all users of a script package to *downgrade* their OS!! And likewise, it would be equally ridiculous to require everybody "above 9.1" to convert everything into OS X, since there are still a zillion of things that do not work on X!)
