HTML Spam help

Concerning OE:

Does anyone know how to disable those nasty little html spam messages? The
anti spam filter is set to the standard medium setting. Under compose
messages in the preferences I chose plain text over html. I don't mind html
messages in a harmless format. Delta regularly sends me html formatted
weekly fare announcements. But some of those html spam announcements like to
try and crawl back through my browser without my permission. It's kind of
like one of those dogs that, well you know, the dog and the leg thing...

But I just had an obnoxious, unsolicited spam ad for a diet product. When I
clicked on it once, it started to dial up my account. I hit cancel a couple
of cycles - doing it this way takes a good 30 seconds after hitting each
cancel try. I finally clicked off my modem and waited for the "Apple Remote
Access can not connect..." Only this time, it crashed.

Is there a filter (Rule) that I can apply to stop these auto connect html
messages? Is there an AS script that can do this? And what exactly is the
creator of the spam doing that causes one message to auto dial once clicked,
and others not? If I understood the format that is triggering it then
perhaps I could learn to use the rules/filters better.

Thanks for the help.
