2 points :
1: It's not just .exe files - they were/are VB script files and various
other exploits that execute on merely being viewed by the user, without
requiring an attachment being manually launched.
2: If M$ decides to put VB script into entourage as a marketing strategy,
would you believe that it was more secure than the windows version?
Simply because it is on the Mac and written by Mac-friendly authors
doesn't make it safe. Take the security breach in IE for X as a prime
example. (Not to mention how often it crashes, including 3 of the 4
kernel panics I've had since 10.0 was released)
OS X is going to be far more susceptible to the types of exploits that
face windows, things that historically didn't affect the mac because (for
one reason) there was no way to execute uncompiled text. With a command
line and shell scripts, the concern is warranted even without the likely
problem of VB in entourage. Microsoft has a history of not regarding it's
users security as a high priority, with marketing always taking
precedence. I predict history will repeat itself.
But that's just my opinion, everyone is entitled to one, and this is
getting way off-topic.
