This is an AppleScript issue that predates AppleScript 1.8. As Chris
mentioned in his message, you can try turning off "Allow Remote Apple
events" in the Sharing preferences pane though this does not always work.
I find that I have to author scripts that target Script Debugger its self on
Mac OS 9 to completely avoid the problem and then copy them to my X machine.

It may be that you accidentally have the Script Debugger dictionary turned
off. Go into SD's Scripting Settings preferences panel and check the status
of the Script Debugger Dictionary checkbox.
