I would buy that argument. (Sounds like a few of the projects I've known.)
Always this stupid battle between those who want it released yesterday, and
those who want it released right. Grrr.

With an update/release cycle that's slaved to MacOS's own, I suspect the AS
team itself is between the rock and the hard place here. The folks who are
suffering serious problems as a result of AS bugs et-al should remember
where the buck stops - it might be more productive to put a formal
complaint to the High Heid Yins reminding them the folly of releasing
unfinished software, instead of venting their anger here where it's
unlikely to do much good.
Also, those belittling the folks with complaints might want to consider
this aphorism: "There, but for the grace of God, go I." If I had furious
customers chewing me out, I'd be angry too. I don't see why excuses should
be made for faulty software (you'd not tolerate it in a VCR or automobile),
especially when it's bought and paid for with good money. If anyone still
feels otherwise, try paying for your next Mac system with a faulty check
and see what Apple says to you...
(But perhaps we'd best move on now, before somebody invokes Godwin on us all.)

It was good to see Chris Espinosa coming forward to clarify the situation.
In this case, I believe the key phrase in his post was:
"We did, however, release new versions of AppleScript
with **last-minute changes**..." [emphasis is mine]
I think those last three words pretty much explains it.
I can only hope that those in charge will learn the lesson for future
reference, cuz it sure reflects badly on the top bods when they start
declaring that AS is a major part of their OS strategy... and then break
the damn thing cos they were in too much of a bloody rush.
