Michelle,

Thank you for that informative tale. However, had I been in charge of the
project, and it was last minute, and it was clear there were bugs to be
squashed and changes to be made, I would move the deadline so that "last
minute" would magically become "next to last minute."

With the existence of the software update control panel, releasing an update
a week or three late is not a big deal at all.

Good, fast, cheap... Well, Applescript is free (praise God), and Good is
non-negotiable. So we settle for late. Case closed.

I think my chances of getting real CGI support any time soon just went down
the tubes, but at least it'll be good when I get it. : )
