I need the categories to be assigned appropriately, for things like Clients,
Personal, etc. So, just because it's a Meeting or a To-Do doesn't mean it
helps to default to only one category.
NUD actually just throws whatever the first category in the list happens to
be onto the new event, at least in my half-shapen script. So, all my new
appointments and tasks created from Entourage are categorized as "Church"
:-)
I tried hard-coding a category into the script, like "From Entourage" so
that at least they'd be separated and maybe I could make that category a
weird color so I could hunt them down easily in the calendar to edit them,
but I wasn't able to figure out how to assign the category even in that
manner.
The only kluge left to me, I guess, is to create a new category in NUD
called "AAARGH_EditMe!" so at least it'd be alphabetically defaulted to, and
I could make them all hot pink and bold or something. ??
But that's so yucky... It means I have to edit every event twice. :P

I guess I don't quite understand. Why not just create the event and have NUD

assign it to whatever the default category is for that type of event? Or

doesn't it work that way?
