This thread is starting to stir a memory in me that assigning an event to a
category simply doesn't work in NUDC, via AppleScript. Actually, I think
that's the case with contacts in Now Contact, but not with events in Now
Up-to-Date. I'm sure I explained the situation in one or several of the
example scripts that ship with the 4.0 product. It would most likely be in
the "Category Object" script in the "Now Up-to-Date Objects" or "Now Contact
Objects" folder in "Example Scripts".
Ah, here we are:
As to Now Contact: "You cannot make new categories using AppleScript. Also,
you cannot assign categories to persons using AppleScript."
As to Now Up-to-DateI I explain in the "Category Object" script that
categories are objects which contain events. That may seem backwards, but if
you think like an object it might work for you. So, when you want to assign
a category to an event, what you really have to do is assign the event to
the category. That is, 'make new event in category "X" of ...', or something
like that. I think some of the other examples show this in action, but maybe
this will put you on the right track.
