Hi Laine,
We experience a crash with Smile 1.8.4 with AppleScript 1.8.2b1 when we
did not have the Smile Help folder installed in the help folder of the
OS 9 System Folder. Once we installed the help folder (as the Smile
read me file stated) the crash did not occur. Can you see if you have
Smile's Help folder installed?
Thanks,
AppleScript Team

I9ve tried running Smile in OS 9 with the OS 9 part of 1.8.2b1
installed.
Crashes my machine with spinning cursor after the splash screen. I've
intermittently had this problem since updating to 1.7 and Smile 1.8.7.
Now I
am unable to find a way to make it run at all.
Started with a clean copy of 1.8.4 and it crashed the same way. Ran the
updater (1.8.4 -> 1.8.7) and then tried to run 1.8.7. Still no luck.
BTW, I
had to comment out the if app running section of the updater to make it
work
with default additions + satimage and applescript formatting in 1.8.2b1.
I wonder if anyone is using it successfully under that system. And I
don't
have any file translations set up in File Exchange cp either. Thanks.
