Smile 1.8.4 or 1.8.7 and AppleScript 1.8.2b1 anyone?

I9ve tried running Smile in OS 9 with the OS 9 part of 1.8.2b1 installed.
Crashes my machine with spinning cursor after the splash screen. I've
intermittently had this problem since updating to 1.7 and Smile 1.8.7. Now I
am unable to find a way to make it run at all.

Started with a clean copy of 1.8.4 and it crashed the same way. Ran the
updater (1.8.4 -> 1.8.7) and then tried to run 1.8.7. Still no luck. BTW, I
had to comment out the if app running section of the updater to make it work
with default additions + satimage and applescript formatting in 1.8.2b1.

I wonder if anyone is using it successfully under that system. And I don't
have any file translations set up in File Exchange cp either. Thanks.
